Consultation Event for Chatsworth Gardens
Lots of residents came to our recent consultation event and had their say on the West End ‘flag-ship’ housing project.
The consultation event took place from Monday 26 - Wednesday 28th March and many local residents came along to view the two different designs for the ‘Chatsworth Gardens’ housing exemplar project in Morecambe’s West End.
The event was held to gauge reaction to the two potential schemes and inform the selection process. Overall the feedback from the community was very positive with the majority of respondents liking the modern design of both schemes.

The housing exemplar scheme includes two blocks of housing bordered by Regent, Albert, Balmoral and Westminster Roads, that aim to meet the main objective which is to:
“Create flexible, contemporary homes in an exceedingly attractive built environment, setting a standard for future development schemes throughout the West End.”
Both designs involve building new properties fit for purpose. There will be a mix of houses and apartments. The properties will allow for flexible living and will be family friendly with more open space.
Project Director Steve Matthews said: “It was encouraging to see the amount of people who came along to the consultation to have their say. We will use the comments to inform and challenge the two developers as part of the selection process on how their schemes may work in the West End.”
