A SAFER, STRONGER, GREENER COMMUNITY

You may have read about the extra funding coming to the West End.

This is both revenue (that is, wages) and capital (costs of materials etc).

The Government is providing the funding to help neighbourhoods build

‘safer, stronger and greener’ communities, delivered through the Neighbourhood Management model (i.e. like Poulton).

Send your views to Cllr Peter Robinson c/o 61-63 Albert Road, Morecambe.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

Information Day - February 7th 2006, 10.30am– 7.30pm

You are cordially invited to an information Day to be held at Sefton Road Church Hall on Tuesday 7th February from 10.30am until 7.30pm.

There will be many stalls offering information and advice for all aspects of living in the West End.

There will be representatives from the Winning Back Morecambe’s West End, members from the West End Partnership, Lancaster City Council officers and councillors, Lancashire County Council and many more. They will be available throughout the day to answer your questions. There will also be opportunities to put forward ideas and suggestions for future projects, such as the Neighbourhood Management scheme.

PACT MEETINGS

PACT stands for ‘Police and Communities Together’.

Every month the local police meet at the Community Shop on Yorkshire Street.

This is usually the first Monday in the month and starts at 7 pm.

If you are unable to attend but have a burning policing issue, then contact PC Spencer Jarrett or PC Ian Nixon on 596903, your local ward councillor or the Community Shop (See useful names list).
